Didn't 71 T comes with Fuchs Wheel? See pictures

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2418577338&category=10156

Looks like a nice car, but I would think that 71 came stock with Fuch wheels?

My '70 T came with chrome steel wheels...like many others, I added Fuchs later. I'm thinking it was the same in '71, but wouldn't swear to it.

i have a 1974 Porsche brochue that shows the 911 with steel wheels, so i am guessing that they were the standard wheel up to at least 1974. they are a strange sight on the large bumper car!!max

That car does look very nice. I can't imagine it has only 21k miles, though. The owner's not too far from me. If the weather ever clears up, I think I'll take a look at it.

I think Fuchs may have only been stock in '89. I believe the stock wheels were originally the chrome/steel wheels in that pic, and then cookie cutters, and then telephone dials. I know they were optional in '88, but it seems that for 1 year they might have been standard.

steve, i thought that the cookie cutter wheels replaced the steel wheels as the standard wheel, but the brochure above shows both.....so there was obviously some overlap. interesting

Steel wheels available painted silver or optionally chrome plated and only in 5-1/2" width. Chrome wheel optional on all models.

6"x15" alloy (Fuchs) standard on 911S models, with a 5-1/2" x 14" alloy found on 911E models

Optional on the 911T was a cast magnesium wheel with 5-1/2" x 15" dimensions. This ten spoke wheel was actually the lightest wheel that had ever been fitted to a production model.

The 5-1/2" x 14" wheel were fitted to 911T's with the optional hydro-pneumatic front suspension.

By 1971, 911T's were fitted with any of the alloy wheel options.

For '72 & '73 the chrome steel wheel was deleted.
