Fresh Air Control Decal Kit?

Hi All,

I seem to recall someone on the forum was selling a decal kit to refurbish the fresh air/fan control on the dash. I searched the For Sale forum, but no luck. Does anyone remember who was selling the kit?

Thanks.

Someone will chime in I'm sure, but I found these paint pens work great, and probably look better than any sticker would:

Hi Torch,

Thanks for the links. I'll take a look at those.

I stated decal, but I'm thinking it was actually white and blue plastic inserts. But the old memory is getting bad, so maybe I'm mistaken.

Any chance you know the color of the panel? it looks like a Satin or Matte Black? I need to paint mine as well.

I gently cleaned the face of the panel with rubbing alcohol and it made a consistent flat/matte black surface, which looks like the right patina to my eye. I can't say what fully restored would look like, or how shiny it came.

I have used SEM Trim Black on other plastic car parts and it's a very nice dull matte finish, but whether that would be good here I don't know.

Great - thanks. I'll look at SEM's products as well. I just want it to look good for a daily driver.

Rennline has a replacement hvac face plate but it’s not the factory look. Big deal to install though.

I used enamel paint (sprayed into a small cup) to refresh worn areas that were indents and raised areas. Used a pencil eraser and dabbed until it filled in the worn areas. Just wipe away excess with mineral spirits on a clean cloth. Did this for dash knobs and the red center heater levered.

I’m not sure if the hvac lettering that indicates the function is raised so painting it might to work.

Yes, a few years ago someone was selling white and blue vinyl decals. They worked well and the appearance is nearly indistinguishable from the original plastic inserts.
