Another seinfeld post, good though, we're the biggest losers in the world

I bought the DVD "Comedian" which features Jerry Seinfeld. During some of the scenes in the movie he drives his 996, but a couple of deleted scenes are what is really relevant to this board.

There is footage of him at a Porsche meet talking about the hobby. It's funny stuff, he first says "this is where we want to be, ... idiot festival," and that "you embrace it, you roll around like a pig in the mud." other quotes are..

"get into something dumb, deep into it, you'll find the greatest wisdom"

and the best

"It's all about social ineptitude, there's not one person here that could conduct a conversation, or eat a meal without the food falling out of their mouth, they're the biggest losers in the world, and I'm one of them."

The other interesting deleted scene has him driving 2000 miles home with a '67 vw that he just bought.

190 views, no replies? oh well, I guess I thought it was more funny than the rest of you! Then again, I was watching the movie when I was half asleep, everything's more funny in those circumstances.

"funny" (?). . hmmm . ..I don't think he was working to get a laugh.
(just cuz the guy is talking doesn't mean he's going for a laugh.)
More likely he was trying to knock down the Porsche buffs that take themselves way too seriously.

Maybe I'll pick up the DVD, and be led to a different opinion. . .maybe.

I remember that scene, and thought it was sort of amusing. '

The main thing that movie told me is that it's tough to be funnier than a group of professional sitcom writers. He was OK, but his standup wasn't in the same league as the writing on his sitcom.

So? Jerry has suddenly become a Bhagwan??? Because he can afford a lot of Porsches? This makes him the one with all the answers to the ultimate question? Gimme a break! Geo. Burns knew better, and he liked cheap cigars...
Say Good night, Gracie...

Yes, not everything that comes out of his mouth is a joke. I found most of the comments more interesting than funny. However, I still think that the last comment is a pretty humorous way to look at it. If you listen to the commentary on the scene, someone involved with the movie says how "strange" a thing it was. He was talking about the meet. It reminded me how crazy we must look to people who don't have similar obsessions.
