Who rebuilds instruments

I have a friend that has a 83 carrera and wants to get his clock working. I told him I’d remove it an send it out for him. So my question is who rebuilds clocks? Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks Pio

Jbell959 on Pelican. Very nice work and fast turn around.

North Hollywood Speedometer used to be a forum favorite, don't know if they still are. You might want to do a forum search to find out.
I think there's also a service in the Bay Area. Again, forum search

Nichols speedometer and instrument Greensboro NC. They restored all my instruments after a fire. They all look and work great. Quick turnaround. VDO authorized shop.

I’m assuming this is a VDO quartz and if either one of you are comfortable taking it apart, it can be done without sending it out. That’s not to discount any of the aforementioned recommendations, but if he isn’t looking to anything further than getting the clock running (i.e. custom/cosmetic changes, work to other gauges, adding features, etc.) y’all might give it a go. There are a number of tutorials out there. I’ve included one from this forum, but there are many across the web.

I’ll add that it’s always fun to do this in the kitchen with as many tools and parts as you can strew across every flat service. When met with derision or any other negative commentary, you can point out that nothing is dirty, greasy, or oily and you don’t have to cure anything in the oven.

John is a great asset to the forum. I have sent him stuff, and including shipping back and forth, its back in my car within a week. I don't know how he does it.

Jbell for sure, fantastic service

I'd stay away from Nichols speedometer and instrument , was not happy with their service.

Nichols was faster and more economical than the quotes I got for my bouncy tach.

After problems with North Hollywood 3 times, I used Nichols too.

I've been using DNA Speedometer for years. A family owned business in Tampa, FL. Andrew is a great guy to deal with.
