Can anyone tell me about this strange vin tag? It is a 1979 911 I am considering vin is 9119310938

It’s a grey market car that was imported from Europe. The usual stamped vins should still be there as well.

I have a similar tag on my 1985 grey market car. Has the original importer (a doctor in Paradise Valley) name listed. I eventually met him at a cars and coffee.

According to the Redbook, the fifth digit (3) indicates an RoW (Euro) car. A USA car would have a "2" in that position.

Engine number would be 6390001-on
