Transporting wheels in car?

Hi,

I have to pick up 4 16x7 wheels (not tires) and wonder if they will fit into the 911 behind the front seats (or in trunk). It's a couple of hours drive so would like to be confident before I set off. I'm working away.from home this week so can't measure up. If any one has done this can you let me know? I guess I could remove spare and put one there, so maybe I only need room for 3, so it seems like it should work

Thanks

John

They will fit in the back seat stacked 2 and 2. Hell, I fit a set of Fuchs with tires in the back of car being transported.

In the early 80’s I purchased a mattress and tied it to the roof of my 914 and drove about 20 miles. Many things are possible.

Thank you for the replies, I've had different.things in the back before that.seem bulkier than rims, (bike, firewood, people) so I'm sure they will fit, but don't want to get there and be stuck.

protect interior and wheels

If they are new in boxes, no problem, but if they are used and or without cover, it might be "wise" to put a blanket or small tarp down first to protect the interior and some kind of padding between the wheels to protect the finish.
