3 point seatbelt hardware
Im removing the seats from my 73E and replacing them with a set of Recaros. Ive got 1 SRD in the car right now to keep it drivable. Im not sure if Im going to keep the SRD and get another one for the passenger side, or if Im going to slide the SRD over to the passenger side and get something a little less practical for the drivers side. Either way, I need to keep the 3 point seatbelts if possible.
Do I need to keep the seatbelt clasp that is mounted to the stock seat frame or any of the other hardware, or can I chunk it all with the old seats? After seeing the Recaro mounting kit, I have no idea where any of the hardware from the stock seats could be used to maintain the stock seatbelt buckle. Does anyone make a kit that retains the 3 point belts for street driving when using aftermarket seats? Any help is appreciated. Last edited by Shuie; 06-08-2003 at 04:06 PM.. |

Not sure this helps, but the stock SB receiver fits on the seat/seat rail. This is the best location as the anchor point moves with the seat. Not sure about adapter hardware.
An alternative location is an anchor point on the center tunnel area behind the emergency brake. You may have to replicate the factory bracket if you install here, but the factory tunnel-type receiver hardware/boot is fairly plentiful. Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars |
