Restoration Project 75 S to 73 RS 2.7
I was actually spending a lot time searching and looking on different post where people describe the process of restoring cars.
It will be great for go back and see progress for myself and everyone who is interested as well. Specially that it's my first project and apart owning some newer Porsche cars I didn't never do anything more complicated then changing alternator or suspension on the car. Please do not shoot me as I'm from Europe and no I'm not British hence English is not my first language. I wanted own something older then 996 not only because I really like 993 and older cars look and lines (sorry to say but I'm not big egg lights fun even I own one). I did delay and delay and when I decided to get something what I wanted proces sky rocket thanks to Magnus Walker and some other folks who put old classic Porsche everywhere. With short on cash what I wanted to get I did decided to actually get base which I can slowly build up on the way that I want. I did manage get my hands on G- modell from 75 which for sure didn't cost a lot money but at this same it's enough solid for the project. At least what I was told by dude who sold the car ( solid car with only whole and rust near pedal area) Final goal to build RS style car which is looking like... ( don't ask why I did pickup yellow) Of course to be purist I'm not building touring version but actually lightweight ( yes I know that attached is a actually touring spec) To be continue... When you waiting 3 months for car to be shipped and delivered there is no words when it finally arrive.
First thing which come up to my mind , **** it's pile a rust and few seconds later it's still an amazing car which require a lot work and money. Really **** load of money... Following quick inspection: - floor need be replaced as it's proper rotten. - floor under frunk to be replaced. - central tunnel need be replaced or patch on parts near floor. - pit roten specially on corners which is the biggest **** as new panel not even covering full roof is bloody expensive. - roof ( is ok but some moron put after market sunroof) Apparently car was seating for 12 years in warehouse but it's really hard to believe.. More pictures of inside will follow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |

This is going to be a huge project. If the “dude” that sold you the car said that there is only rust under the pedals, then be prepared for the usual surprises particular to the pre-galvanized years. Have a look-see at my own (miss) adventure currently in progress… Sweet Transplant
Patience and perserverance will be your best friend. Good luck and keep posting your progress. Johan

There can't be RS without MFI system or at least I want be close as possible to real setup.
Stacks from what I believe are this same spec at least from what I manage find out. 40 top bottom 36. ( At least RS was exact like 2.4L just with bigger cubic( Pump is going to German auto and pump runner to be completely rebuild from 2.4 (..... 014) to race spec. Cost circa 2k € Stacks and rest will go for cleaning 50 € Still missing box with filter and few clips holding box. Can someone point me in direction from where I can source them? ![]() ![]() ![]() Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |

RS MFI setup is basically the same as the 2.4S except for the space cam in the pump. It's hard to tell from the pictures which MFI stacks you have. If you post a picture or the part number from the side of the stack that would tell us. If you have S stacks you're ready to go.
I don't think I have a spare air filter box but I can donate a few clips to your project. Let me know how many you need.

Stacks are marked as 911.110.314. 1R I believe that S is marked 911.110.313 for 72/73 and actually has 2mm bigger opening and end. Question is if I can run on them because there is not such difference or better look for one from S ? For sure I will be not looking for RS as they either not easy available for some sensible amount of money. I have two clips on each stack , I don't mind buying and paying for shipping or I can pay for shipping and send in return some gift. ![]() Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka Last edited by joshuars; 05-31-2023 at 11:40 AM.. |

Well... this is where the slope gets slippery. Especially with MFI. If you are planning to build an RS spec engine then you really need to duplicate the MFI and port sizes. Everything needs to work together. The plastic stacks on the RS were the same as those used on the S (911.110.312.xR). The specs of the throttle bodies and heads were also basically the same.
Your E stacks have smaller openings on the top and bottom and your E throttle bodies have smaller openings on the bottom to match the intake port on the E heads. So.. if you port the heads to 36/36 like the S/RS then you need to also open up the bottoms of your throttle bodies to 36mm. That in turn means you should really open up your stacks for the extra flow. All that said, you could leave the MFI E setup as is and also the heads and make a nice 2.7 engine. Just not an RS spec engine. Probably no reason to modify the MFI pump with an RS space cam unless you are going all the way with the MFI and heads, but that would be a question for Mark Jung. Don't forget, if you decide to go with the RS spec engine you also need to replace the cams. So you need 4 of the air filter box clips? Send me a PM with your address and I'll send them to you.

Not a lot space hence I didn't had a chance to unpack but finally I get some of new body panels for the car.
GfK (+Kevlar) and one side for back panel which will be replaced. Super happy as it's Dansk which I manage to get for half of the original price. So happy as I did actually get this quarter panel from company / guy who build super light Porsche https://youtu.be/r92int4KKZk Weight 650kg ( Ritchie for sure have passion for drilling holes) All GfK parts are from UK company Career Legend Ltd t/as Pro-9 Porsche ( Simon Evans is super guy if you looking for lightweight parts) Now I need only find full quarter panel for other side and I will be covered. Price point. 3/4 Quarter Panel Dansk - 500EUR Gfk Hood, back spoiler , fenders , front and back bumper around 1900 EUR When I will clear the mess picture of the GfK part will be shared however it's top quality. ![]() ![]() ![]() Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |
