Replacing Hood Lock Cover

My old hood lock cover (the plastic piece that runs from one side to the other covering the hood lock) was broken and had silicone holding it in place. I bought another one that has all 4 studs but my question is how does it attach to the body? I am guessing I am missing some clips that the studs go into but not really sure. There are 4 sort of oval holes in the plate that the cover goes over. I tried trim nuts but the studs are not long enough.
Thanks

That piece is attached via round speed nuts that screw onto those 4 studs. Our host has them. When you install them, you will need to push the plastic cover down so that there is enough of the studs for the speed nuts to grab on to. It’s a little fiddly getting them on, since there’s not a lot of room to work.

Thanks for the replies. I tried speed nuts and there was no way to push the cover down enough for the speed nuts to grab. Maybe those other clips will work. Thanks

Thanks to the posters above and apologies for my incorrect response. The PO of my car must have used the speed nuts and I followed suit when replacing the cover piece. Learned something new today. Funny - I was always wondering why it was so damn hard to get those speed nuts on ...

No apologies necessary My first instinct was speed nuts also because it sort of makes sense. I will purchase the correct fasteners Thanks for the replies
