I look at the PET for odd ball parts like this.
Sometimes the catalog for the car you have doesn't include everything, so it's worth a look at other catalogs like this 89 catalog

The picture shows a 4 terminal ground tree.

in any case it is a VW part as noted by the second post

The PET says that it has part number
171 971 519 A

Similar parts are the
321 971 519
357971519 (for some reason no spaces works better)
