Simple fix, replace ignition switch

Starter won't turn, first replace the battery, nope, then replace the starter, nope, now replace the ignition switch. Well??

What a tangled nest. Now there 3 plugs that plug into receptacles on the fire wall. These are behind the light switch, Hazard light and ignition switch.

No ID on anyone. I only have an old Haynes manual that doesn't have any pictures and actually the electrical diagram skips the 72 year. Goes from 71-73.

I've plugged them in one at a time and tried the headlights but no luck. Wonder if the key needs to be turned on?? Will try it again.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

No clue. I had the rear half of my harness replaced last year. Yesterday when I went to start it wouldn't stop when I released the key. Full left killed it. New battery. Starts fine when warm. DM me or I'll try and keep up with this thread.

Just noticed your'e in OR. DM me. There are only four shops around PDX I know of. One is so-so, one won't take new clients and the other two are months out. The plus side is mine is at home and driveable after a year and a half. I get the summer and back in for suspension tweaks in the fall.

I just replaced the one in my '76 not a big deal

Just to check I found the right plug for the ignition and tried to start the engine. Great!!! The same issue. Turns on the fuel pump but I just hear a click at the solenoid. The engine doesn't turn. Exactly like it was before I replaced the battery, starter and ignition switch. I have a feeling it's going to sit on the top of my 4 post lift for awhile.

Hey Kent, does the motor turn with a wrench on the crank nut ?? Get a remote starter button at a autoparts store and hook it up to the wires on the starter relay to see if that gets the motor turning !! Look for loose or dirty ground straps, one from the trans to the frame is a place to start !!

Check the yellow wire at the 14 pin connector in the engine bay for a good connection. Sometimes you need to spread the pin.
