Fresh air blower stopped working

Is it easy to replace? I smell wire buring and it just quit. Where do I start? Where can I buy the parts? I do have Bentley manual.

assuming it's just the motor it shouldn't be too bad. It's behind the dash, just sit on the gas tank to do it.

Open the hood, unsnap the forward bulkhead carpet, and remove the cardboard panel. The motor (and fresh air plenum) should be staring you right in the face. It is fairly easy to unbolt and unplug. There may be a couple vent cables in the way, but nothing serious.

Just did mine, I took all three hose clamps and loosened them, removed silver electical box, bracket for box, small nut on vent door cable & remove cable wire from blower, remove 2- 8mm bolts and work it out of its compartment. Mine was squealing and I cleaned and lubed and no more squeal! Good time to clean the area surrounding the blower before re-install, about 1-1/2 hr to do all including cleaning & vacuum.

Or a burnt up car with just a shell left. Which would be no fun.

Mine was not working when I bought the car. When I took it apart, the inside was also a black melted blob. Bought a new one (about $200). Instructions in Bentley are good but they have you removing more stuff than is really necessary, though you won't realise it until after you have removed it. Only hard part was getting the control wires adjusted so that the openings are correct when the dash level is moved. It would help to draw a diagram of the positions of the wires and levers before you remove the old one; I did not.
After installation I put a 10 amp fuse in the power wire, to avoid any future fire risk.

Fire extinguisher in the car might be an option. Electrical system fail will cause fire.

For those with a working one - how much fresh air can u get from the center vent with the blower at full blast?

I get lots of noise but no perceivable increase in air

Center vent is a/c only, unless you've rerouted something.
