16x8 vs 16x9 Fuchs Suspension Setup

I'm currently running 8in Euromeister Fuchs replicas on the rear of my 86 Carrera. I bought some 9in Fuchs from Fuchsfelge and, once I get tires on them, will be putting them on the rear. I think they should fit under the fenders without rubbing so I'm not too concerned about that, but are there any changes I should make to the suspension setup for handling?

The 9” are widened inwards, i.e. there’s no difference towards the outer fender as compared with the 8”

Wouldn’t think you need to make any suspension changes. Not even sure a wheel alignment is needed

Check your cooler lines on the inside of the right rear wheel well for clearance. Elephant has a kit that routes them higher if needed.

The Fuchs 9s w/ ET15 fit fine w/o any issues whatsoever at any ride height, you do need 245/45 x16 tires

8ET10.6 are an extremely poor fit for the front of a 911, 8 ET23.3 can be done w/ restrictions but it isn't a happy fit either.

to use 8 fronts you want ET25 to 30 w/ ET27 being the sweet spot, w/ these Ets 225/45 fits well.

Will check my oil cooler lines, good callout.

Sounds like there's nothing that needs to be changed for a simple 8 to 9 swap on the rear wheels. Was just wondering if people run more/less camber for an 8in vs a 9in wheel.

I should clarify, I'm keeping my 7's on the front and the 8's will become my backups for the rear.

For clarification then...

If I have 16x9's on the rear for my alignment and swapped to my 16x8's there is no need for an alignment after?

1986 Coupe here, had 9's on the back and swapped to 8's but going back to 9's...

Keeping the 7's on the front.

Doing a full suspension update and an alignment of course is last on the list. Be nice to know for convenience sake that swapping 8's and 9's on the back will be fine...I generally order online(tires) and take the rims off myself and drive them in personally.

Thanks,
Erik

Doing the same here. How has the outcome been?
