Fuel return pipe replacement 1987 3.2

Hi all. Whilst removing my petrol tank I managed to snap the metal tube coming out of the bottom on the right hand side for the fuel return and so need to replace the full tube. It goes up (metal joins to rubber) over the steering rack and disappears into a hole. Where do I find the other end? And how do I feed it through? Many thanks in advance for your help.

The other end is by the transmission cross member. Break the fitting and connect a small wire or fish line so you’ll be able to pull the new one through.
More easily would be to put a shunt in the hose at the break.

Thanks so much Bruce. Where do I access the bit where it joins? Do I go under the back of the car or do I access through the little panel inside the car in front of the back seats? And when you say “break the fitting”, is this so that I can then pull it through from the front of the car (having attached the fishing line)? Sorry to be so slow in understanding…

If the only issue is at the return connection up front at your tunnel line I can help.

I can make up a Front Return Hose for you as the lower one in this photo.....

The most common need is for the Hi Pressure Feed from the Pump, but I offer both if needed. You will need to cut back the crimp sleeve and clamp this repair hose in place.

Please email me for info.

Thank you.
