Heater Duct Tin Clearance for Twin Plug

Has anyone got any pics of mods to the tin duct to clear a 12 point distributor?? Diagrams or advice on how best to do?

The Turbo lateral tin with air socket has a much larger cutout for distributor clearance. It’s what we always use.

I cut, bent and JB Welded a non-turbo hot air socket so it was concave like the turbo socket around the distributor. It was a royal pain to do and it took a many fiddly tries to get it to clear and not have leaky gaps.

I used a 964 distributor and wasn't sure the turbo socket would clear the backside of the top distributor cap. It sticks out a lot. If someone can say for sure it will clear whatever distributor you are using, I'd just get that. The turbo socket seemed obscene at ~$400, but it's probably cheap considering how much time it takes to mod the $60 non-turbo one.

I just cut a section out and weld in a curved piece of 20ga. From an old post:
