Carpet "button" source?
 

Anyone have a part number or source (or a couple that you could drop in the mail :-) for the small button that the carpet snaps to, same piece that is part of this item circled in red:

I'd prefer to not have to pay $22 for a pair of these parts that I need to cut up.

You can get a 12 pack of these (set of male/female) at any fabric or crafting store, Menards has them too not more than $5.
You’ll need a special punch that comes with this in order to set the rivet on the male (pictured) it might not work or curl over the rivet enough using a standard punch - otherwise I could send you a couple.

Sent wrong pic, here the male section or “snap”. Same method, use other side of that round black arbor to fasten the rivet together using the special punch.
