Fuel pressure
1984 3.2 Carrera
When does the pump build pressure at start time? Turn key on, does pump run and build pressure? Or Turn key to start, pump runs and builds pressure? I’m hunting what I’m hoping is just a dirty system. My fuel sender gauge is no longer going all the way down. I’m replacing Fuel strainer screen Fuel filter Fuel level sender. I’m wondering if I should replace the 40 year old fuel pump while I happen to have the fuel tank drained. |

Re gauge not going all the way down: Probably just crud in the sender. Does the Fuel Low light come on?

It did come on….but I’m not certain it goes down that low anymore. I bought a new one.

Thank you.
I’m hopeful it’s just screen and filter and sender. I might need a check valve….and fuel lines, we shall see tomorrow. |
