915 transmission selector shaft not centered
Just completed a clutch change. I also changed rubber engine mounts with like for like. I measured old and new. Powder coated tin and trans cross member. When trying to mate shift coupler i found transmission selector shaft is very high in the bulkhead tunnel hole. This forces the shift rod up and shift rod rubs in the tunnel. I would need to force trans input selector shaft down to mate Stomski shift coupler. Rear engine mounts are good with correct washers. Any ideas what has changed? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1690334550.jpg

Can you post pics of the engine mounts and the trans mounts? Could only be one of those two things -- rear mounts too low, or front mount too high. I'm sure you checked the washers. Any chance the powder coat is keeping the trans mounts from seating all the way, making it too high up front?

As a wild guess, Is it possible the rear engine mount beveled washers were mounted upside down? It seems as that might cause the rear of the engine to sit a little lower.

Upon review of front and back. It looks like i installed the front mounts upside down. I thought they were correct and with sandblasting/coating, i lost all marks. Washers are correct.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1690377617.jpg
