I'm off to Le Mans tonight!

Not long now and I'll be speeding off to the port in my SC - with my friends in their Skyline and Lotus Elise a little way behind ; )

Tomorrow morning we'll be in the middle of the greatest race in the world. Fantastic cars everywhere you look - plenty of Porsches. Drive around the track on Friday, pitwalk on Saturday, French wine, beer, cheese and crepes and a Legends race before the main event featuring 917's GT40's and 512's WOOHOO!

I'll post some images when I come back.

Stefan, why aren't you taking the SC? Still got teething problems from the service?

I am - read the first line again.

Turns out the problem was with the new plugs. I put the old ones back in and everything's fine.

I only "scan" read your post... "port..SC" (which port would that then be, Charleston?)...then ..French wine, cheese...er..WHAT wine? Oôôh you're British! (OK-I should have guessed...)
Have a moooooost enjoyable stay in Normandy, Smarjoram!
(weather seems to be holding out, too!)

I'm camping in Technoparc - just opposite you. What colour's your car - I may have a wander over at some point. Mine's a platinum (beige) metallic coupe with no spoiler. Say hello if you spot us amongst the other 80,000 Brits : )

Doh! Glad you got it sorted out.
I decided not to go this year - next year's Classic Monaco and LeMans perhaps? And there is always the Porsche parade in Spain.

Classic Monaco would be great - if there's an affordable way to do it.

If you booked through the club, then don't forget to check out the PKSport garage on the pit lane walkabout.
Looking forward to seeing your photos

I'd give a body part to see the vintage race. The current race would be very cool too.

Hope you have a great time Lads!
How many (non-factory obviously) Porsches are competing this year?

Stefan,

Have a great time and take some nice snaps for us ??

I've been going for the last four years with my Lotus friends but this year I'm giving it a miss for the "Festival of Speed" in July.
It's a shame that recently the local "gendarmes" have really been cracking down and, so doughnuts and burnouts in the town centre on friday/saturday night have all but disappeared (God I would've loved to be there in 1971 !!).

You might be lucky if you hang out at Arnage on friday afternoon though

Have a cracker.

I forgot to mention....

Any chance of a request ?

A pic of one of the TVR Tuscans being over-taken by a GT3RS on the inside of the Porsche Curves would be great......
