Permatune- More than just a CDI Manufacture
For you 911S folks. If you ever have an issue with your 911S intermittently dying while driving and you know how bad it is when you are stuck on the side of highway for the 7th time waiting 5 hours for AAA which really sucks, well not for me anymore, I solved it!!
At the time I just did not know what to do. Read every forum on Pelican and got nowhere. 25 years earlier I installed a Permatune replacement CDI and the car ran just great. After months of trouble shooting and using the process of elimination I could only guess it was in my ignition. So what do you do, just go buy another CDI and guess again like I did with all the fuel components? Nope, I called these guys at Permatune and my problems were over. Talk to Lonnie and told him the story. Without giving me a minute to breath he told me to pull the distributor, harness, coil, old Permatune and electrolytic filter cap and get them to him NOW. Huh? #%#^*^*%&%#^!!!! He told me that he would take the entire set up and run it up on their system and run diagnostics for me. Done deal, I sent them the next day. The afternoon they arrive he put them up on their system and found the problem, it was the coil. I asked him about the old Permatune since it was ancient. He did say he saw some small issues but not necessarily related to what my problem was. So he packs them back up and sends them back, no charge. In fact, I had to break his arm to pay for the return shipping. I ended up buying a new updated Permatune CDI and coil and back on the road. There are company's and there are company's. These guys are on top their game over everyone in my opinion. Support services means everything. Thanks again to the Permatune guys. |
