Certificate of Title? Certificate of Registration? Certificate of Authenticity?

You’ll have to be more specific of what you’re looking for, there isn’t any I know that’s called a “certificate of vehicle” though each state might have their own definition of what particular documentation is called, required or available upon registration.
Generally government records pertaining to vehicle ownership are released to original owners of record or licensed dealers for purpose of resale, transfers, etc.
Porsche can provide a costly Certificate of Authenticity.
You have a 17 digit VIN. There are private sources that can trace a vehicles service, sale, registration and reported accident history for a set fee.

The Porsche COA (Certificate Of Authenticity) is now a lot more thorough than it used to be. In the old days they would verify information you submitted to them. Now it is given a complete exam at participating dealerships.

It's a joke imho. Why can't they give me the engine and trans number for a particular VIN#? Instead I need to drive 8 hrs to the closest location and fork over $500.

It’s more likely that it’s a bot.

You mean vinanalytics.com, right?

I went to that site and it says original engine and transmission serial numbers (where available). How long ago did you request these? What year car? Mine is a 1988.

I know the other information and if the engine and transmission info is not available, it would be useless to me.

vinanalytics.com doesn't work with older car VIN's like my 1973.

I think the odds are good that the poster is someone in Europe or wherever whose first language is not English, who lives in a country that does issue something like a "certificate of vehicle", whatever that is, and is looking at a locally-available 911 that was imported from the US.

Yes, I used the site for my ‘84 and got build date, engine and trans serial numbers, options, paint etc. All verified to be correct. I’ve read others that did not get all of the information so YMMV

I just ordered the Advanced VIN Decoder. The report did not show the...

engine and transmission serial numbers.
