New headlights
check these out...they are DOT approved, 7" replacements that take an H4 style bulb in back.
I think it adds a different look to the same old "sealed beam" style light. Short end of how I got a set: Found the source at work, got them through the shop I do some hobby work at, we don't do any headlamp replacement stuff at my real job, there's no conflict. 80 bucks for the pair isn't too bad. the prism cut reflector is pretty cool. No, they're not the ones on ebay for 15 each...these are SAE approved. (there a little DOT approval cast in the lens) ![]() ![]() sjd

no, it's just the 7" sealed beam type replacement. These are on a '67.

They look pretty cool. Why are you being coy about revealing where other folks might grab a set?

Those Hella '64 - '67 assemblies are SAE/DOT approved, but the H4 inserts AREN'T!!! Those look like driving lights ... no shield for the low beam pattern, and no Fresnel lenses to shape the pattern!
Have you checked the low & high beam patterns for the 'bargains?'

lens optics are to often discounted in headlight performance. Although it appears you don't have headlights.
fwiw, I personally feel that DOT lens suck.

Sorry ianc, I've had posts removed by the mods for "advertising". PM'd you.
The Hella assemblies are dot approved, yes, I had the assemblies... The headlights themselves are also DOT approved. The light pattern is shaped by the reflector (asymetrical cut). I'll try to get a pic on the wall in my garage....I'll also try to get a closeup of the DOT seal on the 7" lamp itself. They conform to FMVSS 108 DOT (48cfr571.108), the federal motor vechile safety standard regarding headlamps. the section printed out as 72 pages. This is my understanding, I have an inquiry in with my supplier, and will correct this post if it's not right. The reflector is diecast aluminum, the glass is well, glass. They're very nice pieces. sjd
