PCCM new radio+ for classic

Apologizing up front if this is a duplicate question…the forum won’t let me search yet…

I am looking to replace/upgrade radio from an aftermarket Nakamichi to the Porsche branded PCCM for classic cars. Part no: 911-645-591-00-OEM

One question:

Is the Apple CarPlay integration wireless?

I installed the PCCM+ in my Cayenne. (If you do go this route buy the unit from Pelican, $500 cheaper than the dealer)

Not sure if I would do it again. I do not have AM reception and the dealer hasn’t been any help.

CHunt - have you considered a blaupunkt Bremen sqr46? Doesn't have apple CarPlay, but has full bluetooth compatibility and looks just like the 1980s vintage original equipment blaupunkt radios. I use the rennline phone mount (which uses the clock bezel as the base for mounting the phone just outside of my direct line of sight) to see/control my phone while driving and find this combo much more useful/easy to see than the PCCM's tiny apple CarPlay screen. https://www.rennline.com/porsche/911/interior-accessories/phone-mounts/?gclid=CjwKCAjw_uGmBhBREiwAeOfsd-bQjAlMd05FkE4UznKBK2jEfjyr-3py1iMULuDK4KDqdViKoo9XtRoCyJ8QAvD_BwE

There is a checkbox for AM in the radio > options menu. Hope that’s checked

Yes, it is. I get one AM station, and the rest static. Dealer giving me the song and dance.

Corporate wasn’t much help either.

Not that I listen to AM but I want the band in the event of an emergency.
