Source for AC parts?
 

I alread have a new Seltec compressor sitting on my shelf(Dimensionally same as Sanden rotary). I would like to know of a good source and price for the adapter plate that would bolt to my current York mount and allow me to install the rotary compressor. While I'm evacuating the system, I might as well change out the drier. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced supplier for the drier?

I can't say for certain, but I've had good luck ordering some parts from www.hancockindustries.com. They were really nice on the phone, prompt, and the prices seemed reasonable at the time. (about 2 years ago)

NAPA and Autozone. The desicant used is compatible with both R-12 and R134a.

NAPA GA708301 for $24.99 or NAPA TEM208301 for $25.49 (also Four Seasons 33318 sold on line for $22.03) for the early 70's cars through 1983; these cars typically were originally equipped with the big York compressors and are set up for use with hoses that have flare type fittings. The NAPA receiver/driers are o-ring units but come with the adapters and o-rings that permit use with flare fitting hoses. These NAPA receiver driers are larger in diameter (but shorter) than the OEM Behr units which may cause a problem if one has limited tire clearance and they require the use of a bigger securing hose clamp. The fittings are also located differently than the OEM Behr unit; installation requires that a hose be flipped over to the other side of the receiver/drier. Check to see if this will be an issue with your car. Some of these NAPA units come with an overpressure switch installed; this switch may be left in place or replaced with a plug. I haven't see the OEM Behr units for less than about $90.00

The Turbos may be a different in terms of which years have flare or o-ring fittings. I suggest the compressor type be used as a guide. Flare fittings may be adapted for use with the o-ring type receiver driers using adapter fittings.
