3.2 oil pump in 3.0 sump plate?

If I use a 3.2 oil pump in a 3.0 will this sump plate work? I would like to have a drain plug if I have to update the pump.

Here's the link to the product:

Took a look at the pics in the ad. It does appear to be for the later style oil pump with integrated screen, and the ad does say that it's for turbo and 993 pumps which is consistent. The key is the plate needs to be concave to match the contour of the integrated screen on the pump, and not the earlier flat style sump plate.

Beware low hanging hardware and raised manhole covers, etc. You pays yer money and you takes yer chances.

From the looks of the thread depth, not much screen clearance in there.

I think John may be referring to the sump plate. A later style factory sump plate is an option - the kind with the hemispherical shape instead of flat.

Yes, you can use a 3.2 pump. You may have to do a little mixing and matching with the sump plate and screen. No biggie. And as JW suggested, don't buy a sump plate that hangs down.

Plenty of used 3.2 pumps around, I have several. Bob
