Where to get the Fabspeed Cat By-pass?
I have looked all over and I can not find anyone that stocks the fabspeed cat by-pass for a 88 911. Can someone help me out. Thanks in advance.

Since your in NY, check with powertech in jersey as they deal fabspeed. Or if not, you can buy it direct from fabspeed via their web site www.fabspeed.com .

You best do a search on this forum regarding Fabspeed premuffler fit up problems. I would strongly recommend you head the Dansk route for the extra cash (available from Pelican). Fabspeed builds beautiful stuff, but has horrendous customer service. Several mis-welded premufflers got out of his shop because a weld jig fell off the wall and bent the fixture...it took forever to get Fabiani to realize this, and consequently a few mighty peeved customers...me included...

I have the Dansk premuffler and GHL and the fit was perfect!

I used a fabspeed and had great results. I bought it directly from fab with great customer service.

Save your money, your not going to gain very much with this mod. Plus, IMHO Fabiani is a jerk if something is wrong with his product. Been there, done that.

???? I am more than intersted in adding a cat by-pass and a stainless muffler on my car......How much more HP will I gain...(not just the HP...I like the look)......and will I be able to pass CA smog? Or worst case, just put the cat on every 2 years...and atleast be able to pass a visual inspection....more and more mobile smog check points in my area...and it seems because I drive a nice 911....I get stopped.....Sometimes I think the friendly officer just wanted to look at my car....Stopped 5 times the durring my first year of ownership...and never got a ticket!!!

You'll probably fail your smog test unless you get lucky and the motor decides to run a bit hot. If that's your concern, you might be better off keeping the cat on. On the other hand, if you can pass without one, than just hollow out the cat, it's the same thing as a by pass.

You should also be aware that one of the ways Fabspeed gets their part to "fit" is by making the mounting holes larger - ie: 3/8" instead of 5/16". This makes for a rather sloppy assembly and the washers draw down into the holes. Plus, if you have a problem that requires their service - good luck!
