Wide body

Thinking about doing a wide body conversion on a Gbody 911. Is there any benefit suspension wise (or other benefits) going with a 930 turbo vs a 911SC? Do I lose anything going with a 911SC? Looking at going 74 RSR style wide. What kind of car did 74 RSRs start with? Thanks.

Following.

From all the posts I've been reading, if I do ever go widebody, I will just buy a widebody car, even if it's another start from scratch roller like my 87.

The cost alone to get the body done properly seems to outweigh the process, in my opinion anyway.

If I can find a legit widebody car (factory or otherwise), or ever one day peel my wallet open to buy a Turbo without a motor, I'd go that route and spend all the bodywork cash on replacing all the aging and wear components.

But want to see what some other folks have to say. If you can pull it off, I'm rooting for ya!

No matter which way you go, get a post ‘76 G-body as (I think) it’s the first year of full galvanizing. Flares are cheap compared to having to replace part or all of the front clip, and/or rockers, floor, inner quarter panels. A southern states car would be a bonus. Have a quick browse of my two threads below.
