interference between center tunnel carpet and seat slider - '82 911 SC

Hi -
Has anyone experienced interference between the center tunnel carpet and seat sliders as the seat is slid back? (1982 SC) I've always had the issue with the original seats and sliders evident by black grease skid marks on the top corner of the carpet where the tunnel flares out around the access port (4th owner). The interference has increased a bit more since replacing the seats with vintage Recaro LS seats and Recaro sliders (0.70.9NT - great fitment, all holes lined up btw).

This issue almost requires a spacer between the floor seat mount and slider (which I don't like as headroom is tight, 6'2"). Anyone had this issue? Hard to imagine they came from the factory like this
