Playing Cards found behind interior trim

I'm finishing the renovation of my '79 RoW 911sc that includes a bare metal respray and refreshed interior. When i was taking the interior out, I found four German playing cards behind the vinyl trim piece under the left rear quarter window. I guess the Porsche employee installing the interior left his mark, which is neat ! I would like to find a creative way to possibly display the cards in the car and I'm soliciting suggestions. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I only found this under the drivers floorboard on my ‘81. I guess it was mine since I bought it 42 years ago.

That is a great find. Adds some interesting history to the car. I only found a Motel Key from a Motel 6 in my first 911 35 years ago.

That's awesome! I agree it would be cool to get them incorporated in some way. I see you have some stickers on your rear side windows - you could find a way to stick the cards (or reproductions) into one of the windows (maybe top center of the rear windshield?) fanned out like this:

And, of course, a SpadesCustomz grill:

(no affiliation to these links/sites other than they were the first decent pics in Google images of what I was trying to describe)

It'll be interesting to see what you come up with!

You could line the glovebox with them, clear over them somehow on the inside of the door. Would be neat.

THAT makes perfect sense in an 80’s Slantnose.

Playing Cards

Thank you for the responses. Some good ideas there. I have thought about putting them back where I found them. I'm still giving some thought to a few of the other ideas!

I found a pot pipe under the drivers seat of my 914. Back when it was illegal and the find was at least mildly interesting.

The prospect of a factory worker leaving an “Easter egg” definitely more interesting.

I see three options. I like the ideas of laminating them onto the roll bar or put them back where you found them.

Personally, I would attach the ace to the inside of the glovebox door. I’d use a rigid baseball card sleeve and acid-free double sided tape. Simple and removable. Leave the glovebox open during shows, cars & coffee, etc.

I like the idea and the finding of a time capsule. But in your case, these items need to be verified to see if they age to the cars production or left during an interior re-trim. Adding a bit of provenance has a cool factor if it can be tied to a specific period.

Finding a coin might date to the time it fell out of someone’s pocket, but old coins are still in circulation today. Note - kids stuff all kinds of items, all the time in slots and crevices. I won’t go through the expense of carbon-dating the Cheerio’s and a fruit flavored Lifesavers that I found. For what it’s worth, I “bagged and tagged” the coins along with a tollway receipt I found and keeping these with the rest of my 911’s doc history for the next stewardship to determine its significance.

My 911 has copies of its registration and warranty page stuffed in a discoverable location for the someone to find should these docs ever get lost a hundred years from today.

You best put them back where you found them. Otherwise, you will have a squeak that will drive you crazy forever. Lol. Thanks for sharing.

I'm currently restoring a 1970 911T imported to the UK from Mew Mexico. I found a fishing float in the engine bay and a good few dimes and nickels in the tunnel and dash.
