Pirelli, made in ??
wtf?
Bought new winters, 300$ a pop, made in Russia? Many reasons, including safety. Out of good habit I wouldn't buy a toothbrush made there let alone a tire. ughhh. Installing anyway, pia to go back and forth. keep an eye out, every part is suspect nowadays.

The same tire I pulled off, I believe was made in slovakia, bought in 2019.
It failed from tire rot!! Where a tread meets the skin, pre-mature rot, went over a bump and pssshhhhh... so that is absolutely something new to me... I still have my Italy winters from over a decade ago on my winter car Pirelli too. So yeah, I'm very suspicious, when you pay 310 $ not installed for a standard size tire that the korean's sell for 200$ you'd be crazy not to buy the korean brand. My foolish mistake. and, the car is stored indoors all year, so really unacceptable and shocking. The reason I bought it again was because the front two had been replaced because of a flat earlier this year, so I figured get a matching set, even though they aged dangerously, stupid I guess. Phil I guess I should add, when you buy a brand at 150% price delta, you used to expect it to be made in an area of known excellence for the brand, to say the least. The bosch stuff made in Czech, poland etc.. that I have bought were very satisfactory, but.... the price reflects this, they are very cheap and good quality, so you know up front hopefully what to expect, besides, they are not tires. If the maker of this tire has any questions, I can direct them to the cdn tire store in ottawa that has removed them today. They can analyze why a tire bought in nov 2019 at the same store would suffer from these little cracks at the base of the tread that permitted a hissing leak to appear, and the tires were 38 psi when this happened, exactly the a6 spec. I ended up reducing the pressure in the other side for the long drive home as a precaution, it was a long slow drive with the silly spare.
