Porsche Crest Need advice on purchasing an early 911

This site got recommended by PCA members, so I give it a try. I am looking to buy an early 911 (64 - 67) and found a 67 Targa in Roswell, GA.

Since I am in California and a distant buyer, I am looking for advice what else to do apart from a pre-purchase inspection.

This will be my first Porsche and I would not want to start with a complete lemon.

I have tons of pictures on the car. Any help from an aficionado to check them out with me and provide advice is highly welcome. Feel free to contact me at michaelabaum@yahoo.com.

Thanks much,

Mike

Why not buy a 69-73.5 car?

There are a number of Atlanta area Pelicanheads that would likely offer to take a look in person....if you were to ask nicely, of course.

Hi Mark,

thanks for the reply - Hey, for this, I am going to ask as nice as I can for being a German

Seriously, if there is anybody out there who would like to help on this, feel free to contact me. I would highly appreciate any support. During my search, I have met and spoken to a lot of Porsche fans and they are an extremely fun bunch of people. I am looking forward to talking to you.

On the question about short and long wheelbase: Understand the later ones are highly desirable as well as more reliable and parts are more available. Just have a passion for the "true" original, first models when it comes to classic cars.

Mike
