Issue with SWB spring plates / rebel racing
 

First SWB I’m working on so bare with me

The SWB spring plate vs rebel spring plate the inner depth is 3/4 different.

Am I missing something? I can’t even get it to go in far enough to engage teeth on torsion bar

They look plain wrong, way too much material. I realize that’s a huge statement of the obvious, sorry!

Rebel racing strikes again. I think this may be the straw for me after what I went through these past few transactions with them

Do you have the torsion bars out of the vehicle? I found on my 66 SWB the torsion bars will slide all the way thru to the opposite side of the vehicle. It may be that your bar is inserted too far.
You could simply measure the insert depth on the spring plate and compare to stock ones. Put the snap ring in and insert a rule from the inside to the clip stop.
Install the bar into the spring plate to correct depth, then into the torsion tube. You may find the bar engages just fine. FYI I have Elephant racing SWB adjustable plates on my 66 with their polybronze bushings.

I will say your rubber bushings look to be very thick?

You need the really early spring plate bushing.
