Odd One with Fog Lights

I never use my fog lights, but for some reason after a long day at work, I actually drove with my lights to get home. :/

Pulling into the neighborhood, for some reason I decided to pull the knob to turn on the fogs - which worked, but also lit up the brake and seat belt light. When I turned them off, the light stayed on, but remained off after shutting the car off and starting again...

For me the easiest solution is to not use the fog lights, but scratching me head on this one, and not sure how deep I want to get into it to address right now.

Any thoughts from the Yodas out there?

Chris, did both your seatbelt and brake lights remain illuminated afterward, or just the brake light? Also, are you referencing your parking brake light, or the brake pad wear indicator light. I ask, as the seatbelt warning light on my '86 will occasionally randomly illuminate (and then turn back off on its own). Similarly, my brake pad wear indicator light will occasionally illuminate and then stay lit until I "reboot" (turn engine off and then back on).

Mine have done this since a late-diagnosed failed voltage regulator allowed voltage spikes to wreak some havoc on my Carrera's electrical system for a little while, which causes me to question whether the warning light cluster itself could be at fault?

Darrin, I have had a couple of the episodes, but they are rare. It was the seat brake pad light cluster, all of them. Always resets with cycling start. Alternator is a year old and voltmeter shows normal loads. Maybe in the past it was compromised.
