Will 93021102901 heat exchangers fit on my 78 911sc

My 1978 911sc exhaust situation is a mess. Runs fine, but they look homemade. Anyways purchased these heat exchangers on eBay part #93021102901.
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134723929251?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uFVgOSN4QEu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Yd4XaE87RQG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Will these fit on my 3.0?
Part#93021102901 is for a 3.2. They look like they would fit. At $300 for a set, I took a chance.

Guidance please.

Photos attached of my filthy “homemade” headers with heat exchangers.

And the set I purchased have photos from eBay auction above.

3.2's have larger exhaust ports, so the tapered sleeves on the heat exchanger inlets probably won't fit in to your heads. Also, with a '78 I think you probably also have thin flange heat exchangers, so you would need longer exhaust studs. Finally, the SC heater boxes have elbows that point outwards, but this shouldn't be too hard to remedy.
You could make these work, but it might be easier to find some correct heat exchangers. Or save up for some thin flange SSIs.

I have to agree 1978 have thin flanges and should be date stamped.
I’d contact that ebay Seller for the misleading fitment years.
I have a set correct #930.211.025.01 dated 01/78 if you’re interested send me a PM.

You need these for the 78-79.

I did that. eBay seller was very understanding and refunded $. May take you up on that correct set unless I decide to clean up my existing “homemade” headers. They do sound good.

Btw if anyone can identify these headers it would be greatly appreciated

asandiego,

Your problem is the not the exhaust system but rather the massive oil leaks from your engine. Replacing your current exhaust system with something like this will not help unless the root problem is corrected.

Find a used OEM exhaust system or use your current headers but you need to fix your oil leak sources FIRST. Pull that motor out and start the clean up.

Completely agree, just got the car a month ago. And that is absolutely prerequisite to whatever exhaust I decide to go with. Just got the car running about a week ago. So yes bottom clean up is first on the list. Find the leaks and I’ll go from there. I think maybe oil return tubes. Still has original solid ones.

One step at a time. Had to get car running first. Had to replace alternator and CDI box, because last person who moved car reversed polarity of battery. While I was in there removing fan etc. I “had to” clean as I worked. Same steps will be taken underneath. Probably take a couple of weekends but I’ll get her clean. This car means a lot to me. Belonged to a friend who passed away before his time. I am fortunate that his brother had no interest or the drive to get her running. Here is how I found her, indoors at least.

Registered her today. Runs well, drives excellent, seems to have short throw shifter. Suspension is tight. Runs strong. Hard to believe this motor has 130k on it. And the “homemade” looking headers sound great, I may just weld up the small cracks in the heat exchangers and clean them up, and maybe some high temp black paint, until I can afford a proper SSI.
