'87 Carrera 3.2 seatbelt receivers/receptacles for aftermarket seats
Looking for ideas on how to mount the seatbelt receivers/receptacles on my '87 Carrera 3.2 after installing new racing seats. As it's known, the stock Recaros had them part of the seat rail of the seat itself (seems skimpy).
1. It's not easy to tie into the custom seat rail adapter brackets I made and the seats are only held in with 2 - M8's per side and the sheetmetal is super thin. Not comforting. 2. The trans tunnel sheetmetal is paper thin even when using backing plates/backing washers. 3. The space in the tunnel is super tight to get wrenches in there anyways. 4. Welding on tunnel is too close to lines including fuel. How did you make it work? I need ideas. Photos even better. TIA!!!
