What would a shop charge to swap out these engines?

Wondered if anyone had an idea of what it would cost to swap a 2.7L for 3.2 L .The 911 is a '69 with a 915 tranny, the 2.7 runs better than my wife's '78 3.0. Just wanted something bigger and couldn't afford the 3.6 swap that alot of folks like. The 2.7 was built off a '73 2.4 block.
Only a couple of shops here in the area that have been recommended.
Thanks!
Gary

DIY!

Do it yourself man! It's not that big of deal to physically swap the engines. It's the little things that make it a PITA. However, people on this board will help with the little things, I assure you. I just swapped a '78 3.0 into my '74 coupe, and a '74 2.7 into a '76 Targa so I could sell the Targa. It took me about 4 nights total, from 6:00pm to midnight, with few interruptions, and I was working by myself.

Needed:

A large tool collection.
4 jack stands
Three heavy duty floor jacks.
One factory Porsche jack.
Space.
Dedicated time.
LOTS of patience.

...and a few misc. other items that you fabricate along the way.

Just take pictures of every step and document EVERYTHING you do. It may slow down the process, but if it's your first time doing serious wrenching then it'll pay off.

The 3.2 has a lot of electronics and a computer that needs to be installed unless you are (and can legally) going to carbs. That aprt will take a lot more than 4 hours. You need to call the shop and ask, and be specific about what you need. Ask if the shop has done this exact swap before (and how many times). To do it yourself, reaearch the Pano articles about this.

Since we are on the topic, I want to pull the 1300cc out of my 356C and put in a 912 engine at some point. Is it relatively easy to do?
