Problem with flag mirror mount
 

I picked up a pair of flag mirrors from a seller in the PP Classifieds, who presented them as 911 mirrors left over from his upgrade.

I just noticed that the mirrors themselves have 911.X.X.X part numbers, but the base piece is 928.731.023.05. It's also got a flatter edge than the bases on my '88 Carrera and I'm wondering if these mirrors will work at all.

Does someone know the part number of the correct base? If I get the correct base can I still use these mirrors?

Caveat Emptor... I wish I'd noticed this before I took the time to strip and powdercoat them. :rolleyes:

Bump...anyone know the part number of the base that allows mounting the flag mirror to the door?

according to my info, it appears that the base piece for a flag-style mirror would have the following part numbers:

911.731.247.00 (left)
911.731.248.00 (right)
