G Series Central Locking Actuator EBay Win

Long story short, driver side central locking actuator went. I couldn't find a cheap alternative to buying something new, so I tried to fix it. Turned out the little 12v motor was shagged. Got it working for 1 min then it absolutely shat it self.

So I bit the bullet and bought a 5 wire Ebay door lock actuator and hoped for the best.

Well it works perfectly.

I had to solder the original connector to the ebay loom which took a few minutes. I swapped the arms over and it screw right into the factory holes.

Cost me about $15 USD.

For those on a budget, a good alternative.

Clever alternative!
That generic replacement actuator can be found all over, even amazon has them….even $5 cheaper.
