My ‘89 Carrera flew too close to the Sun and…

Thankfully I didn’t!

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

Thank you. My seat time in air cooled 911s without airbags has now drawn to a close.

The person in the backpack was driving the Maxima with eyes closed and took a left turn into my door. A male fled the scene and her support team arrived just in time for her BFF to fill out a witness statement. You can see her instructing her friend on what to write down in the background. The incident was captured on carrera and she was cited.

First and foremost, glad your ok! Looks like the driver door took a good hit.
Could have been worse for sure.
Still tough to see your car damaged. Mine is loved like a child!
Hope it all works out for you.
Your car protected you still, don't give up on them.
Hopefully insurance will take care of things.
Good luck!

Crap! A very bad day for you and the car. Good to hear that you were ok.

Any idea why the guy fled?

Stuff happens, that's why we have insurance...but WTF was she doing driving with her eyes closed? Did she have an explanation for that?

Sorry about the car and good you are ok.

I'm glad you're OK. They are tough little cars but crash technology has come a long way in 50-ish years. I hope you can find your next P-car soon.

Glad you are OK and can post about it. And this is why Zeus created Celette benches.

Glad you are ok.

I can only hope for a follow up story about the "support team" getting jail time for fraud.
Lucky for you there was a camera.

This thought has certainly crossed my mind also.

One last image for perspective, the impact was significant enough to delaminate the anti-glare coating that was vapor deposited on my lenses (yes, I was wearing them at impact). Hideous…

Speed limit is 45mph through that intersection. Not sure how fast a Maxima has to be going to dent a Porsche like that from the side but I’ll wager it’s 20ish mph. Maxima girl drove right through oncoming traffic (me) sent me careening down that cross walk and apparently through a pole on the ground I am only seeing now
