Please can someone identify this part
 
Just at the bulkhead end of my fuse panel is this rectangular metal item with a short loop of hose connecting two bits of it. It is wired directly to the battery and the wires from the other terminal disappear into the wire mess below.
It is obviously non factory by its power line but I have no clue as to what it is, does anyone??

That is a thermal circuit breaker. I cant see what amperage it is. It has a bimetal strip inside when overloaded opens the circuit, and when it cools it re sets. Definitely aftermarket. Vacuum tube insulating live studs.

I had one that was part of the dealer-installed AC power (now removed), not sure what yours is linking.

Thanks, not seen one before. Bet it was hooked into the ac which has now been removed, guess I’ll just take it off the battery clamp bolt and see what does not work anymore.
