Do I need this part for a Driveshaft replacement on my 84 Cab?
Appreciate you taking the time to help if you can.
I purchased 2 Lobro 300672 driveshafts for my 84 Cab and am wondering if I need the "Plate" shown in the attached pic from Bentley, it's number 12 in the diagram. The driveshafts didn't arrive with it and I can't find a part number for it. Any help with either I need them or not and if so what is the part number would be appreciated. Also, if needed, is there a particular bolt hole they are supposed to be attached to? Thanks again!!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1701812617.jpg |

Appreciate it!!! Forgot to check there.
Are you aware if the placement needs to be mirrored in the same position on both sides? |

You should have those "moon" plates on your original drive shafts. Just reuse them. Three on each CV joint. They spread the pressure of the bolts more evenly across the metal collar underneath.
Correction: It looks like the 84's have 4 bolts and two alignment pins on each CV joint, and the later cars have 6 bolts. If you have 4 bolts, there are only two moon plates on each joint. |
