Said Good-by to an Old Friend Today
Today was the day I said good-by to my 1984 911 Targa. I owned it for 22 years. Had great fun and adventures with it. But, I wasn't driving it enough anymore and it was time to sell it. The new owner (a local PD detective) is a genuine Porsche enthusiast and an overall "car guy," and I know he will enjoy the car as much as I did.
To those of you who helped me maintain and enjoy the car over the last 22 years, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. This forum was such a valuable tool and asset to my stewardship of the car. I hope I was able to contribute and give back in some small way. And along the way I met some really interesting and fun people, and took the car on some great, spirited group drives, and some fantastic solo drives. Y'all be careful out there, but have fun! Best wishes for the holidays. Scott ![]()

All original (including paint) and unmolested (except for a Dansk sport exhaust and a more modern Blau radio). 92,XXX original miles on the clock.
We negotiated a bit on the price, but overall I was happy with the deal.

Beautiful car. I hope the next caretaker appreciates the effort you invested in providing him a nice 911. And good job for finding the next caretaker...

It's a long story how we met, and how this deal got done, but it started with me talking to him about his older Porsche 911 when he parked near me at the local supermarket. His other 911 (which he says he's going to try to keep) was immaculate. The paint and chrome work just gleamed. I'm sure the car has gone to a good home, where it will be well cared-for and maintained.

Similar to my motorcycle I’ve had for 24 years that I don’t ride as often but when I do it’s always a jam!
BTW what size spacers are on the rear and did they impact handling at all? |

No spacers. 7s up front and 8s in the rear.

At least, if the car stays local, you can go visit it
