Replacement Jarvis 12-plug distributor rotor

Is Jarvis Tech still in business? I'm looking for a replacement rotor for a Jarvis dual plug distributor and can't find any recent contact info. Will other brand rotors work on his distributor using the Jaguar style cap?

Thanks.

I used to sell those. Try Tom Conway at Carquip. 303-443-1343. If Service Parts are still for sale he might have some or know how to find them.

I think this *may* be a rotor to adapt a Jag cap for 911 twin plug use.

Another contact who may be able to help is jpnovak here on the forum.

I think those are for the original Bosch 12 plug distributors, or at least ones not using the Jag caps.

The Jarvis rotor may be a Jag V12 rotor attached to a plastic adapter base with plastic screws . The lower 2nd contact has a large blob of adhesive holding it in place. Perhaps a stock Jag V12 rotor can be refitted to that same adapter base if I knew what type of glue/epoxy was used on plastic.

Not so sure about that. This rotor was presented to me as part of a kit using a Jag cap to convert a 911 distributor to twin plug.

do you have any photos, I've seen a variety of rotors for use with a variety of caps. The one that's on my twin-plug 2.7 RS motor, I can't seem to find a spare rotor for anywhere, but the others, no problem

these guys have a pretty good sampling of most of the common cap and rotor combinations

twinplug

The rotor used by Jarvis looks identical to the one used now by JB Racing, which I believe is a Jaguar V12 part attached to an adapter platform. If I can pop off the epoxy blob and refit with a Jag rotor I should be fine.

I bought 2 of these during my trials and tribulations. But my rotor is nothing like it.

Email/DM me your shipping address, if they work out for you, I’d gladly accept a few bucks. Or not.

I know this is "after the fact" but when I built my 3.3SS engine w/twin plugs this is why I decided to use the XDi system that does away with the distributor. The idea of never having to buy an expensive cap or rotor really appealed to me. Just something to consider!

Had a Electromotive XDi on my 930 twin-plug, looks alone would prevent me from doing it again. Cap and rotor expensive is relatively minor in the big picture.

If that is a stock Jag V12 rotor then JB Racing is modifying them to create a non-180 degree separation.

Porsche Crest Jarvis twin plug rotor

Dave Jarvis has designed a new and better rotor. You can contact him directly at jarvis@eatel.net. He did away with the flimsy Jag rotor and built the entire rotor himself. I have been running one now for 2000 miles and it works great.

I finally spoke to the real Dave Jarvis earlier today, still going strong at 81. Has a new shop down in Louisiana still called Jarvis Tech. Has new design rotors that he manufactures himself, very pricey.
