Planning ahead as the engine will get back in the car soon.
I searched the archieves and found that I should use NLGI 2 specified grease but could find the appropriate amount anywhere. Some post says one can per joint, some says two. How much should be used ?? Can size is not the best meauserment, the cans here are measured by weight. Cant really find out if i should use washers or not, I have the M8x50 screws ( N014.751.3 ). Should there be washers ( its is for my SC ) ?? |

My SC didnt have washers, for whatever that's worth. If you have a new axel you might need shorter screws on the wheel side, I just went through this. Seems the new versions are a little shorter and the x50 screws contact the hub.
Not sure on the exact amount of grease. I have a little tub I've had for years I use for wheel bearing and axles. I might have paid $10 at a local parts store a couple years ago. |

Pack the bearings as tight as you can. Too much grease is not a bad thing, too little is. I agree with buying the tub.
