G50/52 converting into a G50/50 Help!
Hi fellow Porsche fans,
I was wondering if anyone knows someone who can convert a G50/52 transmission into a G50/50? I have a chance to get a G50/52 and I need to make it fit in my G-body. I need a stronger transmission for the 500+ hp engine I'm building. I'm having a 930 G50 torsion tube installed so I have room for the transmission. I'll also be able to use 930 trailing arms. Thank you in advance for any help with this. |

I’m sending one to them (cms) next week. They are the go-to for that service.
|
What’s the ballpark cost for that?

I will be contacting CMS for sure. Thanks for the info.

Where are you located? CMS might be the go to place on the West coast but their estimate for the job might convince you to do more research

You'll need the nose piece/cover, PN 95030191304 and shift rod 95030310905.
Those two also fit standard G50's, so they shouldn't be too hard to locate. You'll also need the the two nuts, 95030228101 and 99903403300 when you remove the intermediate case. A couple of hours labor, assuming nothing else is wrong inside. Seal it up with three bond instead of gaskets. |
I was told you also need a G50/50 bell housing. Can you machine the one it comes with?

G50/50 case is discontinued (last time I checked. Check with Porsche Classic Parts). Even if you wanted one, you're not likely to find one.
Starter mount is different, and the G50/52 has a cutout for the crank sensor, but otherwise the same. Maybe Matt has one lying around. PN is 95030191055. |
No, no /50 housings, but I do have a couple nos /52 cases. Not that would help here.
