Porsche Crest Just got back from the Canadian G.P.

Sorry I don't have pics. I just drove round trip to Montreal from Pittsburgh - it was awesome! Even if Shumacher won (again), it was a blast and I'd recommend going to anyone. Got to walk the pits for the Ferrari 360 Challenge and even met Patrick Head (Williams BMW technical Director). It was a weekend of pretty girls, exotic cars, and good laughs - I could go on & on............

......But this post wasn't meant for that. Rather, a tribute to our P-cars. My old '87 944 with 153,500mi finished the 20+ hour round trip with flying colors. It just refuses to give up. I checked in to the Montreal Hilton parking garage and was suprised to see that I was not alone: there were TONS of older Porches there. Among them, an '86 951, early 924, and many late 70s-early 80s 911s. One older SC even had plates from Texas!!! Was that anyone from this board?

Anyways, more than a few of my friends asked: "Why didn't you just fly in to Montreal. Isn't the trip to Pittsbugh a bit of a trek??" Well, yes, but driving there is half the fun every year. So Sunday afternoon after the race, I walked to the dark corner of the parking garage where the 944 sat, fueled up, and began the non-stop trip back to PA. Went past the 1000 Islands/upstate NY area through the night on to Erie, PA and finally rolled in to the 'burgh around 5:00am Monday morning. The next day, the Porsche looked like it went through the 24 hours of Lemans. It was covered it bugs, road dust, and dirt. The interior was a garbage dump of road maps, CDs, and empty Coca-Cola bottles. Just wanted to share; I guess you had to be there.

Good man, nothing like a trek in a P-car, a true drivers car.
I wonder who the Tex SC belonged to?

Congrats on the safe (and fun) trip.

Was there a P-Car Supercup support race that weekend? I don't keep track of their schedule anymore but do remember they don't have them at all GP's.
