I have heard that Stuttgart Auto Body Ltd off of west Dartmouth has a good reputation within our region.

I was looking for painters in Denver just over a year ago.
I dissasembled mine, had the paint removal done on my own terms ( I wanted to see what was under there) and I planned on doing 98% of the reassembly (I wound up doing 99.9%). When I talked to Stuttgart, I got a very polite brush-off saying they were only interested in insurance collission work. 3R does great work but they were out of my budget (and my budget was pretty darn high....ask Zotman) The person who did mine was great in some ways and not so great in some others. I would only recommend him depending upon what you are planning on doing. Is it a color change? How much disassembly / assembly will you be doing yourself? How much bodywork is involved? My history is that my car needed a fair amount of rust repair. Once I selected the shop/painter and dropped the car off the guy who did the major rust repair work quit. So my car sat for months until a new guy got on board and got down the list to my car. The new repair guy did an awesome job, he was fantastic. By this time it had been 5 months and I was all over the owners back to finish my car up. The owner is also the painter and he was leaving on a vacation so he rushed the final painting part of the job so there are some things I am not satisfied with (but I understand the why). Overall I am happy but I expect it will all be worked out in the end. During those several months of visiting the shop I saw several cars come and go that were just there for repaint and I was pretty impressed with their results. Drop me an email if you would like his name and number.

Hi Peter,
Why would I want it running when I am spending all my free time in the garage working on it? I mean the wife is getting tired of parts all over the basement, the kids only recognize me after I shower off the grease and everyone at work laughs at my greasy fingernails. Yes, my tongue is firmly planted in my cheek. It will be running this summer!!!!!! If you don't have much going on this weekend, stop by. I've got a lot of time allotted for working on it. I've always got beer and you can have a good laugh at all the things I am trying to do. Feel free to wear old jeans and shirt so you can pick up a wrench ![]() Besidea, the weather should be good and I haven't seen your T.

I've talked to a few body shop and gotten everything from the polite brush off to fairly enthusiastic responses. There are a number of body guys that don't like to paint older cars. They just want the quick and easy insurance work. That's why I posted here. I don't want a down to the tub bare metal restore. I just want a good quality respray with some minor rust and ding repair.

Jerry, Kens Auto Body in Aurora is excellent. They specialize in German cars. They are not cheap, but do great work. I've also recently used L&H Body in Wheatrdge on my Jetta and Chevy PU, and they did an excellent job. They also gave me some ballpark prices on my 930, with me doing alot of the prep. PM me if you would like to see the work on my vehicles. Bill.
