I'm in the market for a dual in/single-out muffler for my 77 911 which has a stock 2.7 except for the thermo-reactor replacement headers (eventually I will replace those with SSI's).
I have been looking at the Dansk, Bursch, and Ansa mufflers. What is the difference between these mufflers? Any personal experiences people can share would be great. Thanks!! -Dave |

Had busrch and then an ansa, the bursch sounded really crappy (personal opinion) on my 3 liter with headers (like an old Harley), the ansa was more pleasing. In tend changed it for a B&B which sounds great but has required repairs 3 times already. Forget about calling B&B for repairs by the way
There you go, my 2 cents (actually more like 2 grand in mufllers!)

Gustaf, I have a 1976 2.7L stock and I replaced the thermal reactor headers with SSI's and installed a Dansk stock stainless steel 2 in 1 out muffler. I did gain a few horsepower with the SSI's. The muffler construction is very good. I bought it with the stock exhaust pipe diameter (about 2 inches). In retrospect, I think I should had bought the Dansk with the larger exhaust opening (3 inches) since it may provide a few more hp. The muffler I have is by no mean loud. In fact sometimes I wish it had a few more decibels of noise.

On a related question, here are a new old stock factory muffler (right) and a almost new Dansk (left). How come the HE flange sticks farther out on the Factory one?
