Custom Displacement Badges

I've spent the last couple of months tinkering with making some custom displacement badges for a few of my dad's (jbell959) cars. He has a 71T with a 2.5 and a 73 RSR clone with a 3.5 so I wanted to make some badges to match and I've finally gotten some results that I am happy with. The numbers and back plates are CNC machined on my CNC router and then powdercoated and assembled. They are held on to the decklid grill with studs and locknuts. Right now I only have the powdercoat to do the numbers in silver but I'm going to try some in gold to match the badges on the early cars soon.

I have a bunch of extra materials that I bought to make these so if anyone wants one send me a PM.

I am interested in a 2.8 badge. If you can do this, please email willIXXIrs(at)aol.com. Very impressed with your work here.

I've gotten a few requests for a 2.8 so I made a mockup of one.

I test fit the 3.5 badge on my dad's 71T and it fit just as expected. I ran into a hickup with the stainless nuts I bought so I'm going to test some others but otherwise I'm very happy with the result.

This particular one will go on my dad's 73 RSR clone and the 71T will get a 2.5 badge with gold lettering once I get the gold powder from UPS.

Update, I got some new hardware so the problems I was having before are solved. I also put together a mockup black on black badge that I'm pretty happy with.

I've been following your build, it looks amazing. The gold powdercoat didn't work out too well so I'm looking into using a 2 part paint/clear instead. I'll update when I have some progress on that hopefully in the next couple weeks.

Actually, I am just finishing a 3.8 car and just about to start a car that will be 3.0.

So, I'd like one of each, please. Both with silver numbers and black background. I sent a PM already. Thanks, greg

My new 3.8L badge from SBell arrived yesterday and is not happily installed on my car. Thanks Spencer! I'll be back for another when my next project is ready.

Finally an update! I've finally picked a gold paint that I think looks the best next to the factory gold badges. I plan on clear coating them in a 2 part gloss so that they are durable. I hope to be able to do the gold numbers in batches since the 2K clear only has a pot life of 2 days and a can is relatively expensive. Here are a couple pictures of the gold badge I made for my dad's 71T pre-clear.
