Porsche Crest Martini Rossi 911 SC

Besides the swell 70's looking racing stripes does this SC have anything else over the stock model?

Did this edition also come in Silver?

How much more does this edition typically sell for?

I am pretty sure it's just color and stickers, maybe special colors in the interior too (bright red) Nothing to boost performance at all. Only came in white, I think.

where's the air pump? And aftermarket AC? Is that really a '78?

The Martini stripes were available on any SC (option M42). Not a "special" model. The stripes were similar to those seen on a '76 British Motor show 911 turbo. That car had been a "special" to celebrate the combined victories in the world manufactures' champsionship (with the 935) and the world sports car championship (with the 936). It was also the 4th year that Martinia & Rossi supported the racing team.

I just looked at the link. This is the same car that we've bounced around on this site sometime since the beginning of the year, I think one of the members offered to look at it for someone. I wonder if it really is still for sale.

Sorry fellas, nice car perhaps, but those stripes are horrendous! I could possibly wear sunglasses to deal with that interior, but those stripes!!!

Looks like some fool went down to the local Pep Boys, sporting a couple of 40 ouncers deciding that he had nothing better to do that night than to stick on some stripes.

I love history but..............

Maybe they could use it in the new Starsky & Hutch remake. Call it the striped egg.

although it might just be a foreshortened illusion due to the angle, the shift lever (not knob) seems shorter than stock.

but i do like the red... if only it wasn't so faded.

now that rocks and is worthy of the martini stripes...

BTW has anyone seen the martini wheel? I see it advertized in 911& porsche world...

thought it would be a nice alternative to a propriotip...wanted to see a pic of one installed...

OK, I will admit, that one is a little better, perhaps all of the extended fender work helps balance it out.

I like the interior, but those stickers make it look soooo tacky...that is one 911 (as is) that I wouldn't drive

Oh come on! Would it not be great to pull into a PCA event with that car, and know you will be the only one with that car. The only exception would be if you didn't have the window sticker to show that it was truely an option on the car.

I want this car, but won't pay what he wants, I have made an offer of 19K.

Antilock brakes is another rare option on a '78.

19K is likely a bit low for a car with only 21K miles on it...

This one or one almost identical just sold this year at Barrett-Jackson auction for close to $30,000. Without knowing what the stripe was about, I would probably have asked why anybody would have ruined a beautiful car like his with it.

Think of the possibilities. Start a conversation "The count and I....." extend pinky finger and use cheesy accent as required.

still a cool car.
